You might prefer to install Office 2010 on your Personal or Office Computer. But there are certain requirements that your computer must satisfy in order to have a smooth operations.

1. Processor 
1 GHz or greater is preferred. This won’t be a problem to most of current users because; almost all computers are now Pentium 4 or greater versions. If you don’t know how to check your Processor Speed; just right click on the “My Computer” icon on your Desktop and click Properties.

2. Ram
Office 2010 would require minimum Ram of 256MB. But it is recommended to have at least 512 MB RAM.

3. Hard Disk Space
3.5GB of Hard Drive Space would be required. However for the professional edition this amount would be 3.5 GB at least.

4. Display
1024*576 Display size is the minimum requirement for the Microsoft Office 2010. But the recommended size is 1024*768 for professional editions.

5. Video Sub System
The minimum requirement for the Graphic Hardware Acceleration is DirectX 9.0c Graphic Card with 64MB or higher Video Memory.

6. Operating System
You can’t install Office Suite 14 in a Windows XP environment. Although there are some hacking methods which can enable the installation in a Windows XP Operating System.

But it is easier to install Office 2010 if your Operating System is above Windows XP. Unless the above criteria are met by your computer, it would be difficult to install Microsoft Office 2010 on your Computer.

Even though your computer fulfills the above criteria, the Process is not 100% completed. You will get an inactivated copy of Office 2010. Therefore, it should be activated using The Product Key of Office 2010.
